RUSSIA
Anton Troshin was appointed General Director of “Zainsky Sugar” from April 3, 2017. In 2016 Zainsky Sugar Plant received more than one million tons of sugar beet and produced more than 136,000 tons of sugar, 28,000 tons of molasses and 40,000 tons of granulated pulp.

The average consumer price for refined sugar was 45.44 rubles per 1 kg in February 2017, which is 1.68 rubles less than a month ago, reports Rosstat.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 141.1 thousand hectares or 12.5% of the forecast by April 4, 2017, (in 2015 - 64.8 thousand hectares).

UKRAINE
The average sugar prices rose by 1.42%, or by UAH 0.23 (0.47 rubles) to reach UAH 16.46/kg (RUR 34.30/kg) from February 28 to March 30, according to the State Statistics Committee.

As of April 4, 2017, total 69 thousand hectares were planted with sugar beet, or 24% to the forecast (the plan is 293 thousand hectares), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy said.
AZERBAIJAN
On Tuesday the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on stimulating the production of sugar beets, according to which the producers will be paid subsidies of 4 Manat per ton of sugar beet (about 130 rubles for one ton at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia). Producers of sugar beets will not be able to receive assistance from the state in 2017 for the purchase of fuel and motor oil used in the cultivation of sowing lands.
BELARUS
According to the railway monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, Belarusian sugar exports have significantly increased - 8.8 thousand tons in March 2017 (in February - 3 thousand tons). In just three months of 2017, Belarus has delivered 12.3 thousand tons of white sugar through the Russian Federation, while in the entire 2016 the total transit was 16.4 thousand tons. More than half of the sugar (6.8 thousand tons) exported in March Belarus delivered to Kazakhstan.
