RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of November 10, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 891.3 thousand hectares (96.5% of the crop acreage); bulk harvest makes 32.3 million tons; average field yield is 36.29 MT/ha.

According to the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, as of November 2, 2020, Russia has produced 3061.1 thousand tons of sugar out of 19,769.7 thousand tons of sugar beet processed.

UKRAINE

As of November 9, 2020, Ukrainian agricultural producers continue harvesting sugar beets, and have already collected 6.03 million tons from 147.8 thousand hectares (68% of the forecast). NASU "Ukrtsukor" reports, Ukraine has produced 610.1 thousand tons of sugar and processed 4.63 million tons of sugar beet, as of November 10, 2020.

According to the National Statistics Service, since the beginning of the year (by December 2019), sugar prices from producers increased by 27.5%, and on an annualized basis (by October 2019) - by 26.4%.

According to the Astarta company report, the net loss of Astarta holding, the largest Ukrainian sugar producer, at the Warsaw Stock Exchange for the nine months of 2020 amounted to EUR 4.72 million against EUR 1.93 million in net profit for the same period in 2019.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Service, the average consumer price for granulated sugar in September was 1.54 Belarusian rubles / kg. (RUR 46.26/kg at the average exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for October 2020).

As of November 11, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 74.9 thousand hectares or 91.0% of the area sown (in 2019 - 92.4 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest has made 3,620.2 thousand tons (in 2019 - 4767.6 thousand tons) of beet; average yield makes 48.31 MT/ha (in 2019 – 51.57 MT/ha); sucrose content in beet in the country is 16.27% against 16.84% on the same date last year.
