Total RUR 1.6 billion were allocated for the modernization of the Chishminsky sugar plant in 2021. As a result, the production capacity on beet increased to more than 5 thousand tons. As of November 25, 2021, the plant processed more than 116.5 thousand tons of sugar beet and produced 17.5 thousand tons of granulated sugar and over 3.6 thousand tons of dry and granulated molasses.

In 2022, the sugar beet acreage will grow to 1,100 thousand hectares. This step will increase sugar production and create sufficient stocks in order to completely abandon imports in the second half of 2022, and in the future - to restore export positions of Russian sugar, said the Chairman of the Union of Russian Sugar Producers Andrei Bodin, commenting on the speech of the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev .
