RUSSIA

According to Soyuzrossahar, as of September 6, total 78.1 thousand hectares of sugar beet crops were harvested, 3.1 million tons collected. The average yield increased by 8% in Russia for the week and reached 39.9 MT/ha, which is 7% higher than in the same period in 2020. Sugar beet processing is carried out at 30 out of 67 sugar factories, the total volume of beet sugar production amounted to 288 thousand tons. The sugar yield as of September 1 was 11.99%, which is 1.53% less than the level at the same date last year.

Sugar beet harvesting has begun in the Belgorod Region. As of today, the yield of sugar beet is 41.4 MT/ha; sugar content - 17.4%. As of September 6, the beet yield was 31.99 MT/ha in the Lipetsk region and 33.2 MT/ha in the Penza region.

UKRAINE

Sugar making season 2021/22 has begun in Vinnitsa region. Six sugar factories total are planned to process beet in the Vinnytsia region in the season 2021.

In Ukraine, sugar has risen in price by 70% over the year and is being sold at UAH 22.09/kg (RUR 59.76/kg at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports.
