Russian sugar producers will keep prices on their products even after the end of the price stabilization agreements, said Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of May 28, 2021, sugar beet was sown in Russia on an area of 1 million hectares, or 95.2% of the forecast.

The Ministry of Agriculture proposed to the government to create a state intervention fund for sugar with a volume of up to 500 thousand tons - this is approximately a monthly consumption of the commodity product in Russia.

A list of Ukrainian goods subject to individual licensing has been published (import is carried out under one-time licenses) and sugar confectionery is on the list.
