RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, sugar beet was sown in Russia on an area of 224.9 thousand hectares, or 21.2% of the forecasted area as of April 20, 2021,.

UKRAINE

The Ministry of Economy has published a draft bill proposing to reduce the import duty on 120 thousand tons sugar from 50% to 0%. They want to exempt sugar importers from import duties until October 1, 2021, when the harvest of a new sugar beet crop will begin in Ukraine.

BELARUS

According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers, Belarusbank will issue BYN 120 million (about 3.5 billion rubles at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation) directed loans to three sugar factories (Gorodeysky, Zhabinkovsky and Skidelsky).
