In order to fill the domestic market with sufficient sugar supply and stabilize the price situation (today the retail price is at the level of UAH 24.5 (68.32 rubles) per kilogram), the Ministry of Economy has issued licenses for the import of 120 thousand tons of raw sugar, according to Taras Vysotsky, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine. The official has announced that the Ministry of Economy is considering in the near future the issue of additional licenses to import another 50 thousand tons of raw sugar. In addition, 40 thousand tons of sugar were imported in February-March under the established tariff quota with a zero duty rate in accordance with the Association Agreement with the EU.
