RUSSIA

According to operational data from the Federal Customs Service, sugar imports from non-CIS countries amounted to 22.6 million US dollars in March 2021. At the same time, the value of sugar imports on an annualized basis (vs March 2020) increased by 3.8%. These figures were reported to Sugar.Ru by official from the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (probably, the FCS combines imports from non-CIS with imports of Belarusian sugar - Sugar.Ru). In March 2020 sugar imports from non-CIS countries made totsl USD 21.8 million.

Prodimex plans to start sowing sugar beet in the Chernozem region in the second decade of April, said the company's representative Ekaterina Kuznetsova.

KYRGYZSTAN

In 2020, about 6 thousand hectares of land were sown with sugar beet, and this year it is planned to increase the crop acreage to 12 thousand hectares, said the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov.
