RUSSIA
As of December 24, 2020, over 3.7 million tons of sugar beets were processed in the Lipetsk region, 632 thousand tons of sugar produced, more than 60 000 m3 of syrup was stored for further processing. Beet processing continues at three out of the six sugar factories in the region. The yield of sugar from sugar beets in the region was 18.17%, as of December 21, while the average figure for Russia is 16.2%. Lipetsk region is the national leader in terms of beet quality – sucrose content makes 20.86%.
UKRAINE
NASU "Ukrtsukor" reported, Ukraine produced 986.7 thousand tons of sugar and processed 7.43 million tons of sugar beet as of December 24, 2020.
