On August 18, 2020, 6 sugar contracts were sold at NTB. The total volume of sales has made 320 MT at the average price of RUR 29725/MT (US$407.37/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session has closed at $407.03/MT (CFO), $412.46/MT (PFO).

Beet sugar production in Russia amounted to 26.2 thousand tons in July 2020, which is 45.9% more than in July last year, but 50% less than in June 2020. In January - July 2020, total 994 thousand tons of sugar were produced.

The volume of investments in the modernization of plants in the Oryol region for 7 months of 2020 amounted to RUR 396.5 thousand. The aggregated daily processing capacity on beet of all four Oryol factories is 18.8 thousand tons.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of August 18, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 15.9 thousand hectares, or 1.7% of the area sown, total 686.7 thousand tons of beet collected; average yield makes 43.19 MT/ha. Altai Territory has started sugar beet harvesting on August 19.
