The Belarusian press writes about a significant increase in the production and export of sugar, and at the same time about a sharp drop in revenues caused by a declining sugar prices. Sugar stocks in factory warehouses are 9 times higher than the monthly consumption volume in the country.

On August 11, 2020 according to the Belpishcheprom concern, the average beet weight in the Republic of Belarus was 433.2 g, which is 12% and 7% lower than the indicators in 2019 and in 2018 accordingly, the mass of tops was 426.5 g, in 2019 - 393.2, in 2018 - 462.3 g. The sucrose content in beets averaged 15.38%, in 2019 - 14.93% and in 2018 - 14.10%.
