RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of May 26, 2020, sugar beet was sown on an area of 929.1 thousand ha, or 98.3% of the projected area in Russia. As of May 25, 2020, the plan for sowing sugar beets was beaten in Ulyanovsk Region (9,914 ha sown - 107.3% of the plan). In Mordovia, sugar beets were sown on 19.3 thousand out of 20.9 thousand ha planned.
BELARUS
Sugar stocks with the industrial enterprises amounted to 265.4 thousand tons as of May 1, 2020, which is 26.7 times more than the average monthly volume of production and 19.4% less than the volume of stocks as of the first day of the last month. These figures was reported to Sugar.Ru by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
