The sugar beet production volume in the Russian Federation will amount to 42.681 million tons in 2020 compared to 54.35 million tons in 2019, and 43.362 million tons in 2021, as follows from the indicative indicators for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, which are integrated in the appendix to the draft decision of the ECE Council on forecasts the development of agribusiness in the EAEU countries

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of May 19, 2020, sugar beet was sown at an area of 911.9 thousand ha, or 96.5% of the projected area in Russia.
