RUSSIA

According to preliminary estimates by Shtrube Rus, the reduction in sugar beet crops will be 12-22% this season depending on the region.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of May 12, 2020, sugar beet was sown in Russia on an area of 880 thousand ha, or 93.1% of the projected area. In the Ryazan region, sowing of sugar beets was completed with total crop acreage reaching 5 056 ha. In Tatarstan, 47.7 thousand ha were sown with sugar beets (96% of the forecasted 49.6 thousand ha). In Mordovia, sugar beets were sown on 45 percent of the planned area, another 21 thousand hectares remained to be sown.

KAZAKHSTAN

The Ministry of Agriculture plans to lift restrictions on exports of agricultural products, including sugar starting from June 1, 2020, Saparkhan Omarov said, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

By May 12, 2020, sugar beet was sown in Kazakhstan on an area of 20.5 thousand ha out of 22.0 thousand ha planned (in 2019 - 14.1 thousand ha out of 19.6 thousand ha), according to the information received by Sugar.Ru from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan

KYRGYZSTAN

As of April 24, 2020 total 7158 hectares of sugar beet were sown in the country (in 2019, on the same date - 12,240 hectares).
