The Balashov Sugar Plant in the Saratov Region will not be closed, the Regional Ministry of Agriculture reports. Moreover, it is planned to entrain the sown areas with sugar beets in the Saratov Region in order to increase the load of the plant. Last year the plant produced 68 thousand tons of sugar.

The authorities of Bashkiria plan to find an investor for the Meleuzovsky sugar factory, the owner of which announced his intention to close the enterprise, the republican ministry of agriculture informed. The Meleuzovsky sugar factory has been operating since 1960, it can process about 3.3 thousand tons of beets per day. The plant employs up to 460 people in season.

Sugar factories in the Kuban (Krasnodar region) did not notify authorized bodies of plans to suspend operations; in the 2020 season, all 16 enterprises will continue to operate in the region, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar Territory reported.

Sugar reserves wih the industrial enterprises amounted to 439.7 thousand tons as of February 1, 2020, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus informed Sugar.Ru.
