According to Soyuzrossahar, on February 17, 2020, 7 sugar factories were operating in the country: the Khokholsky (Voronezh), Gryazinsky and Lebedyansky (Lipetsk), Kirsanovsky (Tambov), Sergach (Nizhny Novgorod), Balashovsky, (Saratov) regions and the Cheremnovsky (Altai Territory). The source provides the following figures to date:
- total beet harvested - 51.34 million tons;
- total beet processed - 50.22 million tons;
- total sugar produced - 7523 thousand tons.
Taking into account the beet stock with sugar factories and in field piles + sugar produced from beet molasses and syrup stored in the 2019/20 season, another 7.70 million tons of sugar can be produced.
