RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of September 30, 2019, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 456.1 thousand ha or 39.8% of the crop acreage, 19.9 million tons of beet collected (in 2018 - 17 million tons) at the average yield of 43.73 MT/ha (in 2018 – 34.69 MT/ha).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated October 1, 2019, total 13 vessels have been nominated to carry 419250 MT of raw cane sugar in 2019 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 322850 MT from 10 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

BELARUS

By October 1, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 35.3 thousand hectares or 37.6% of the area sown (in 2018 - 34.1 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 1615.5 thousand MT (in 2018 - 1465.9 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 45.83 MT/ha (in 2018 – 43 MT/ha). The beet sugar content in the republic is 16.43% versus 16.31% for the same date last year.

CUSTOMS UNION

The duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at $ 250/MT in October 2019. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the ICE stock exchange was $ 246,67/MT in September 2019, respectively, the import duty in November 2019 will remain at the level $250/MT.
