RUSSIA
Soyuzrossahar reports, according to railway and customs statistics, 22.5 thousand tons of white sugar was exported from the territory of the Russian Federation in June 2019, which is 13.6% higher than the level of the previous month. The main countries-importers were Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan. Since the beginning of the year, total 83 thousand tons of white sugar was exported.

Prices for refined sugar from industrial producers amounted to 28.74 rubles / kg on June 20, 2019 (-1.8% per week), according to the Food Safety Monitoring and Forecasting System at Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

According to Sugar.Ru railway monitoring data, in January-November 2018 Russia imported 239634 MT of sugar. The largest exporting countries to Russia were Belarus (96.61%) and Lithuania (3.07%). Russian exports amounted to 294 267 MT, the main countries receiving sugar were Kazakhstan (50.99%) and Uzbekistan (37.86%). Domestic shipments amounted to 1,420,891 MT, the largest volume of shipments was made by Cheremnovsky (5.36%) and Leningradsky (4.57%) sugar plants. The total transit by rail through Russia was 490282 MT
CUSTOMS UNION
The duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at $ 250/MT in July 2019. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the ICE stock exchange was $ 274,45/MT in June 2019, respectively, the import duty in August 2019 will remain at the level - $ 250/MT.
KAZAKHSTAN
Kazakhstan plans to build two new sugar factories, the national Ministry of Agriculture reports. By the end of 2021, it is planned to launch a plant in the Zhambyl region. The project cost is 80 billion tenge (13.70 billion rubles). The second plant will be built in Pavlodar region. It will cost 180 billion tenge (30.90 billion rubles). Both plants have a projected capacity of 100 thousand tons per year and will operate on local raw materials. In Zhambyl region, the plant will provide sugar beet to the Chui district. Fields have already been seeded.
