RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of April 19, 2019, Russia has sown sugar beet in the area of 471.6 thousand hectares or 41.5% of the forecast acreage (in 2018 - 272.8 thousand hectares).

ROS AGRO PLC has published preliminary operating results for Q1 2019. The revenue of the sugar segment of the GC "RusAgro" for 3 months of 2019 decreased by 11% to 4.6 billion rubles driven by a 37% drop in sugar sales, which was partially offset by a 31% increase in prices to 36.5 rubles / kg, excluding VAT.

UKRAINE

According to the analysis of data by the Federal Customs Service of Ukraine, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 2 months (January - February) 2019, export of white sugar (HS code 170199) made total 74 149 MT, in February only - 33 080 MT. The main importer white sugar from Ukraine - Azerbaijan (11 870 MT). Export of beet pulp (HS code 230320) made total 48 201 MT, in February only - 18 356 MT. The main importer beet pulp from Ukraine - Saudi Arabia (24 756 MT).

BELARUS

According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, conducted by Sugar.ru, in February 2019 Belarus has imported 1.8 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 2 months of white sugar import campaign, Belarus has shipped in 2.4 thousand tons (in 2018 - 8.8 thousand MT; in 2017 - 5.5 thousand MT). In the period January - February 2019, the main countries exporters of white sugar to Belarus were RUSSIA (53.59%) and POLAND (45.18%).

In February 2019 Belarus has exported 52.5 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 2 months of white sugar export campaign, Belarus has shipped out 52.5 thousand tons (in 2018 - 71.5 thousand MT; in 2017 - 61.2 thousand MT). In the period January - February 2019, the main countries importers of white sugar from Belarus were RUSSIA (88.37%) and UKRAINE (7.95%).
