Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that currently 99% of sugar beet seeds are imported from abroad. In this regard, the region will subsidize 70% of the costs for those agricultural producers who will sow the seeds of domestic breeding.

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, in January 2019 Russia has imported 26.3 thousand tons of white sugar (HS code 170199). According to the results of 1 months of white sugar import campaign, Russia has shipped in 26.3 thousand tons (in 2018 - 25.7 thousand MT; in 2017 - 21.1 thousand MT). In the period January, the main countries exporters of white sugar to Russia were BELARUS (97.46%) and POLAND (1.31%).
In January 2019 Russia has exported 8.5 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 1 months of white sugar export campaign, Russia has shipped out 8.5 thousand tons (in 2018 - 96.7 thousand MT; in 2017 - 23.5 thousand MT). In the period January, the main countries importers of white sugar from Russia were KAZAKHSTAN (63.01%) and UKRAINE (19.63%).

According to Armstat data, processed by Sugar.Ru, export of sugar (HS code 1701) in January 2019 has made 0.0 MT (in January 2018 - 0.0 MT, in January 2017 - 0.0 MT). Import of sugar (HS code 1701) decreased over the month by 93.11% in January 2019 and has made 168.8 MT (in previous month - 2451.6 MT, in January 2018 - 4951.3 MT, in January 2017 - 64.3 MT).
