RUSSIA

According to the new regulations of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, from January 1, 2019 all taxpayers of the single agricultural tax (UAT) in Russia become VAT payers if the income of such taxpayer from the sale of goods, works and services for 2018 was at least 100 million rubles (~ $ 1, 5 million).

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, in November 2018 Russia has exported 78.8 thousand tons of molasses. According to the results of 11 months of molasses export campaign, Russia has shipped out 691.8 thousand tons (in 2017 - 604.7 thousand MT; in 2016 - 406.4 thousand MT). In the period January - November 2018, the main countries importers of molasses from Russia were TURKEY (41.48%) and SPAIN (17.75%).

UKRAINE

As of January 11, 2019 total volume of 12.46 million tons of beets was processed and 1 692.3 thousand tons of sugar was produced, reports Ukrtsukor.

BELARUS

According to the Association of sugar producers "Belsakhar", in 2018 sugar exports from Belarus grew by 5.6% compared to 2017 – to reach 425.3 thousand tons.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to Statkom of Kazakhstan, the producer price of white sugar in December 2018 (excluding excises and VAT) has not changed and amounted to 161296 Tenge/kg (in 2017 - 152468 Tenge/kg, in 2016 - 190000 Tenge/kg), or RUR 28853.11/kg (at the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation by the middle of the reporting month).
