RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture sugar beet was sown on an area of 1102.7 thousand hectares or 100.7% of the forecast by May 21, 2018, (in 2017 - 1.2 million hectares).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated May 22, 2018, total 7 vessels have been nominated to carry 254694 MT of raw cane sugar in 2018 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 66500 MT from 2 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

UKRAINE

According to the analysis of figures by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, conducted by Sugar.Ru, exports of white sugar (HS 170199) for the 3 months (January-March) 2018 amounted to 164,113 tons, in March - 87,752 tons. The main importers of white sugar from Ukraine are Uzbekistan (50,813 tons), Turkey (31,392 tons), Sri Lanka (12,821 tons) and Great Britain (11,908 tons). Export of other sugars (HS 1702) amounted to 7 119 tons, in March - 4 878 tons.

KAZAKHSTAN

It is planned to increase the acreage of sugar beet crops to 11,200 thousand hectares in the Almaty region this year, the gross volume of sugar beet production is projected to make 414,400 tons, with a yield of 37.0 MT per hectare, the regional administration reports.
