RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by May 18, 2018 sugar beet was sown on the area of 1095.4 thousand hectares or 99.3% to the forecast (in 2017 - 1.1 million hectares).

According to Soyuzrossahar, by May 17, total 1067.8 thousand hectares were sown with sugar beet (in 2011 – 1135.7 thousand hectares were sown on this date).
KAZAKHSTAN
Sugar beet acreage has increased 1.8 times to make 16.2 thousand hectares in 2018 in the Almaty region. It is planned to harvest 400 thousand tons of crops (in 2017 - 9.2 thousand hectares, 334 thousand tons were collected and 31 thousand tons of sugar produced).
BELARUS
According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, in 3 months of 2018 (January-March), export of white sugar (HS 170199) amounted to 115490.0 tons; import - 14111.0 t. Export of white sugar to Russia amounted to 64.6 thousand tons, significant volumes were also exported to Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
