Sugar production in Belarus in Jan 2018 and Russian exports/imports data for 2017, Feb 19, 2018

RUSSIA

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, in December 2017 Russia has exported 729.8 thousand tons of molasses. According to the results of 12 months of molasses export campaign, Russia has shipped out 729.8 thousand tons (in 2016 - 506.5 thousand MT; in 2015 - 337.0 thousand MT). In the period January - December 2017, the main countries importers of molasses from Russia were TURKEY (46.35%) and SPAIN (15.33%).

BELARUS

According to Statkom, sugar production in the Republic of Belarus declined by 73.29% over the month and amounted to 42.1 thousand tons in January 2018 (last month - 157.6 thousand tons). On another hand, the production of sugar in January 2018 increased by 269.30% compared to the same period of the previous year (in 2017 – 11.4 thousand tons).
