The proceeds of the sugar segment of GC "Rusagro" decreased by 19% to 30.3 billion rubles" for 12 months of 2017 due to the fall in the price of sugar by 23%, according to the group annual report. Sales of sugar increased by 22% - up to 984 thousand tons.

According to the operational data of the FCS, the import of sugar from non-CIS countries amounted to 24.6 million US dollars in December 2017. At the same time, the value of the import of sugar in November in annual terms (by December 2016) increased by 25.3%. In December 2016 the import of sugar from non-CIS countries was $ 19.6 million, and last month (November 2017) was $ 25.0 million.
EAEC
The countries of the EAEC produced a total of 7.3 million tons of beet sugar by the end of 2017, which is almost 500,000 tons more than the consumption level. Production volume grew by 6% compared to 2016. Thus, the countries of the EAEC not only fully provide themselves with sugar beet, but also start developing the export potential, the Soyuzrossahar press-service reports.
