RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, on 19 October 2017, sugar beet was harvest in Russia from an area of 840 thousand hectares or 71.4% of crop acreage (in 2016 – 741.3 thousand hectares).

GC "Rusagro" reported that the revenue from sugar production in 9 months of 2017 decreased by 11% and amounted to about 30 billion rubles. Sales of sugar increased by 10% - up to 584 thousand tons at an average price of RUR 33.1/kg (excluding VAT)

In 2016/2017 season the Ukrainian producers have exported a record amount of sugar - 767.3 thousand tons worth US$ 377.8 million. The largest deliveries were made to Sri Lanka (112.2 thousand tons), Georgia (47.9 thousand tons) and Turkey (42.5 thousand tons).
