RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 29, 2017, sugar beet in the country was harvested from the area of 491.2 thousand hectares or 41.7% of crop acreage (in 2016 - 398.8 thousand hectares).

CUSTOMS UNION

The duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remain at $ 240/MT in October 2017. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the ICE stock exchange was $ 307,51/MT in September 2017, respectively, the import duty in November 2017 will remain at the level $240/MT.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to Statkom, sugar prices from manufacturers decreased by 8.9% in September 2017, and from the beginning of the year (by December 2016) - by 14.4%.

GEORGIA

According to Statkom, in August 2017, sugar imports (HS code 1701) have made US$ 4.6 million (US$ 12.0 million in 2016). Total value of sugar imported has made US$ 42.6 million in January - August 2017 (US$ 42.1 million in 2016). Export of sugar in August amounted to US$ 172.5 thousand, thus, total for 8 months of 2017 - US$ 1.4 million (in 2016 - US$ 3.6 million).

UKRAINE

As of September 29, 2017, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 62,000 hectares or 19% of total (planned 318,000 ha); 2.6 million tons of beets collected at an average yield of 42.5 MT/ha, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
