RUSSIA
According to Soyuzrossahar, total 321.5 thousand hectares of beets (26.8% of the crop area) were harvested as of September 19, 2017. In 2016 on same date 276.6 thousand hectares were harvested.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, on 19 September 2017, sugar beet was harvested in Russia from an area of 320,5 thousand hectares or 27,2% of total (in 2016 – 268,3 thousand hectares).

FAS Russia is inclined to stimulate sugar exports and interventions instead of imposing a ban on imports, the deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Andrei Tsyganov has told.

Novosibirsk developer "SunInvest" has acquired "Biysk sugar factory" at auction held on September 20, 2017; the developer has offered 169.3 million rubles for the plant.
UKRAINE
The Prosecutor General's Office has closed the criminal proceedings against the Astarta subsidiaries because of the absence of the offense. In the near future, unlocking of bank accounts of a number of the company's enterprises is expected, according to the "Astarta" page in Facebook.
BELARUS
According to the National Statistical Bureau of the Republic of Belarus, there was no sugar production in the country in August 2017.
In January-August 2017 in the Republic of Belarus industrial production of sugar amounted to 146.6 thousand tons, which is 43.4% less than for the same period in 2016.
