RUSSIA

Up to 670 million rubles will be invested in the modernization of the Timashevsky sugar plant (Krasnodar region, owned by concern “Pokrovsky”) in 2017, the plant plans to start on August 1 and process over 600 thousand tons of raw materials, the district administration reports.

A number of areas of Stavropol was struck by hail storm, as a result of which 345 hectares of sugar beet crops were affected.

KYRGYZSTAN

In 4 months of 2017, the volume of imports of sugar from CIS countries increased 2.6 times compared to January-April 2016, StatCom reports. Along with this, there was a decrease in import prices of sugar (by 21.6%).

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the statistic committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consumer prices for sugar increased by 5.4% in June 2017, since the beginning of the year - decreased by 1.8%, and in annual terms (by June 2016) - increased by 1.1%.
