RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture report dated June 5, 2017, sugar beet was sown on an area of 1179.3 thousand hectares or 104.5% of the forecast (in 2016 - 1.06 million hectares). From January 1 to May 28, 2017 2,275.4 tons of cane sugar was imported, which is 77.4 times less than in the same period in 2016.

At the technological seminar in Belarus, the Russian sugar factory Dobrinsky (Sucden) became the winner of the competition for the title of the best sugar plant in the EAEC countries.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated June 6, 2017, total 10 vessels have been nominated to carry 359410 mt of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 190400 mt from 5 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

KAZAKHSTAN

Alma-Ata region completed the sowing company; total 9 thousand hectares were planted (in 2016 - 6.4 thousand hectares).

GEORGIA

Domestic consumer prices for commodity group - sugar, jams and confectionery products have decreased by 0.4% in May 2017 compared to previous month, and, on an annualized basis (May 2017 to May 2016) - grew by 11.3%.

BELARUS

According to the monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, for 5 months of 2017 Belarus exported 43.6 thousand tons of white sugar by rail transit Russia (in 2016 - 2.8 thousand tons, in 2015 - 40.8 thousand tons). The main importer of Belarusian sugar in 2017 was Kazakhstan
