According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on the area of 1174.0 thousand hectares or 104.0% of the forecast by June 2, 2017 (in 2016 - 1.06 million hectares).

According to the rail cargo statistics by Sugar.Ru, total 265 218 tons of white sugar was exported from Russia for 10 months 2016/2017 MY. The largest factory-exporter was Uspensky - 62.2 thousand tons, Elan-Kolenovsky sugar factory is considerably behind with 36.1 thousand tons. The main exporting companies were "Prodimex" (73%) and Sucden (15%).
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consumer prices for sugar decreased by 1% in May 2017, since the beginning of the year - by 6.8%, and by an annualized rate (by May 2016) - by 1.9%. Prices for sugar from producers fell by 1.2% in May, and from the beginning of the year - by 7.1%.
