RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of May 15, 2017 sugar beet (factory) was sown on an area of 1121.7 thousand hectares or 99.4% of the forecast (in 2016 - 1.0 million hectares).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated May 14, 2017, total 8 vessels have been nominated to carry 300500 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 190400 MT from 5 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

According to the Federal Customs Service, in March 2017 Russia exported 37.7 thousand tons of molasses (HS code 1703). Following the results of 3 months, the export of molasses from Russia amounted to 90.2 thousand tons (in 2016 - 88.5 thousand tons, in 2015 - 52.5 thousand tons).

BELARUS

As of May 16, 2017, 96.9 thousand hectares of sugar beets were sown (101% of the plan), the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus informs.

According to Statkom, in April 2017 sugar production in the country amounted to 424.4 tons (17.1 times more than in April 2016).
