The volume of sugar moved in January 2017 has made 12 000 tons, which is 30 000 tons, or 71.1% less than in 2016, according to a group of NCSP (Novorossiysk port).

According to preliminary data, the sugar beet crop acreage is projected to reach an area of 1129.0 thousand hectares in 2017, which is 18.6 thousand hectares more than in 2016 (1 110.4 thousand hectares).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated February 21, 2017, total 46 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 535 050 mt of raw cane sugar in 2016-2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 387 950 mt from 42 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
From the start of the juice extracting season the sugar plants in Vinnitsa region have received for processing 2861.5 thousand tons of sugar beet; the volume processed has made 2 797.2 thousand tons with 434.5 thousand tons of sugar produced, or 22% of total production in Ukraine (2 008 000 tons) and more than the approved quota by 73.5 thousand tons. The 6 regional sugar plants are scheduled to operate in the production season of 2016-2017.
