RUSSIA

The production of confectionery products in Russia amounted to 3.53 million tons in 2016, which is 1.9% more than in 2015. About 50% of this market is various pastries. About 35% (1.3 million tons) of raw materials used in the industry is sugar; 17% (650 thousand tons) - cocoa, nuts; 28% (1.05 million tons) - the flour. In addition, the industry consumes annually 360 thousand tons of fat, 150 thousand tons of dairy products and 230 thousand tons of molasses, said Sergey Nosenko, President of the Association of enterprises of the confectionery industry.

UKRAINE

Wholesale selling price of sugar increased by 0.34% per week (February 1-8) and was in the range UAH 14500-14800/MT (RUR 30 740-31 376/MT). Manufacturers have raised prices, being supported by active sales for export, according to Ukrainian media.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the Agency for Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, prices for sugar and sugar confectionery, for those imported to Kazakhstan in 2016, have increased by 14.3% in comparison to previous year.
