RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the wholesale price of sugar fell by 2.2%, retail - by 1% from January 31 to February 6, 2017.

"Prodimex" has completed the processing of sugar beet on February 12. The company has processed 10.5 million tons of sugar beets (7.4 million tons in 2015/16 season), sugar production exceeded 1.4 million tons, which is almost 270 000 tons more than the previous year.

According to Williams Agency 12.8 thousand tons of sugar in containers was supplied to the seaports of Russia, Georgia and the Baltic countries in 2016. None of Brazilian sugar in containers was delivered to Ukraine.

According to the ministry, the project of the resolution to abolish the state regulation soon will be published at the official website of the Ministry for discussion. Thus, the 20-year-old practice of price-fixing by limiting trade margins on social goods may be cancelled.

KYRGYZSTAN

Consumer prices for sugar increased by 2.1% in January 2017, while year-on-year (by January 2016) - decreased by 4.3%, according to the Kyrgyz STATCOM.

BELARUS

According to the statistic committee, in January 2017 the average consumer price of sugar rose by 0.71%, reaching 1.75 Belarusian rubles per 1 kg (54.03 RUR /kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation), and on an annualized basis (compared to January 2016.) by 16.19%.
