RUSSIA

According to the Eurasian Association of sugar, in the first week of 2017 the prices of sugar in the countries of the EAEC, with the exception of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, have not changed compared to the end of December 2016. The price of white sugar in Kyrgyzstan increased by US$ 40 and amounted to US$ 575 (excluding VAT, ex-factory basis). As of January 09, 2017 the price of sugar in Belarus is US$ 645, in the Republic of Kazakhstan US$ 580, in the Republic of Armenia – US$ 595 (all prices are excluding VAT).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated January 10, 2017, total 43 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 429 950 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016-17 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 224 300 MT from 37 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

CUSTOMS UNION

In January 2017 the duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union will remain at US$ 140/MT. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the stock exchange "The ICE" in December was US$ 413.43/MT, respectively, in February 2017 the fee will remain at US$ 140 per ton.

UKRAINE

According to the State Statistics Service, the price of sugar from producers has decreased by 2% in December 2016. From the beginning of the year the price of sugar from producers has increased by 2.5%, while year-on-year (December 2016 to December 2015) increase has made 22.4%.

BELARUS

In the year of 2017 Belarus was the first of the EAEC countries to open the season of raw sugar refining: Klaipeda seaport has received the vessel with 30 thousand of raw sugar to be dispatched to Belarus.
