RUSSIA
According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period December 15-22, 2016 the US dollar value has grown by 0.5% (on Dec 15 – RUR 60.81/$; on Dec 22 – RUR 61.11/$). Moscow wholesale price of sugar has decreased by RUR 0.50/kg (+ 1.40%), in Krasnodar the wholesale price has dropped by RUR 0.40/kg. US dollar wholesale price of sugar decreased by $ 0.011/kg (-1.87%) in Moscow, and by $ 0.009/kg (-1.61%) in Krasnodar.

Sugar prices continue to hit anti-records; the actual price of wholesale lot has dropped to RUR 32.6-32.8/kg. The demand has not increased, so that the sellers are forced to attract retailers by a nice price.
According to ten-day reports of Soyuzrossakhar, the five leaders in the production of sugar are as follows as of December 12:

By the end of the year we can expect that Prodimex would receive over 1.2 million tons of sugar, and this volume is hanging over the market like the sword of Damocles. Starting from August 2016 Prodimex almost did not sell sugar in the open market, shipping it for export, industrial consumers and own branch network. Since August 1, the plants of Prodimex have shipped by rail 57 800 tons of sugar to neighboring countries and 156 600 tons to the Russian regions and industrial consumers of sugar. Perhaps the biggest sugar producer is counting on future exports, which may sweep the excess sugar from Russia, otherwise emerging of such a quantity of commodity at the market, will just bring this market down.
UKRAINE
Agricultural enterprises have sold 115,500 tons of sugar in November, which is 17% less than in October 2016. In January-November the enterprises have sold total 576.5 thousand tons of sugar, which is 41.4% less than in the same period of 2015.
KYRGYZSTAN
According to the analytical report by the national Ministry of Agriculture covering the years of 2011-2015, the acreage under sugar beet has decreased by 23.5%, though the yields have and, consequently, resulted in higher gross harvest of beet: from 158,800 tons to 183,200 tons. "Kaindy-Kant" - the only sugar factory operating in the country - has produced 17 000 tons of beet sugar in 2011 season and in 2015 - 21.4 thousand tons. The other three sugar plants stayed out of operation. Over the past five years the annual imports of sugar ranges 90-110 thousand tons, about one third of which is supplied by "Belarus sugar company."
