Balashov sugar factory has manufactured 3 400 tons of sugar from the beginning of the season against 45 000 thousand tons planned to produce this season.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was collected from the area 1.0719 million hectares (96.5% of the sown area) by November 23, 2016.

Sugar factory "Agrosnabsahar" (Yelets province, Lipetsk region) has increased its daily processing capacity from 6000 to 9000 tons after modernization; the total capacity of all the regional plants in recent years has grown 2.5 times, the vice-governor of the region Nikolai Tagintsev has told. It is planned to increase the daily capacities of the sugar plants: "Agrosnabsahar" – to 10 000 tons, and Dobrinka – to 15 000 tons per day.

The domestic consumer prices for sugar have decreased by 0.5% in the period November 15-21, 2016; and from the beginning of the year - by 2.1%, according to Rosstat.

According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period November 17-24, 2016, the US dollar exchange rate has decreased by 0.8% (on November 17 – RUR 64.55/$; on November 24 – RUR 64.01/$). Moscow ruble price of sugar dropped by RUR 0.86/kg (-2.30%), Krasnodar price fell by RUR 0.20/kg (-0.57%). The US dollar price of sugar decreased by $ 0.009/kg (-1.55%) in Moscow and increased by $ 0.002/kg (+ 0.37%) in Krasnodar.
Sugar prices continued to fall over the past week, but the rate of decline has slowed. Most of the market is not ready to sell at prices below RUR 35/kg, probably we got to the bottom level of sugar prices. An additional incentive for the growth of prices may become the advancing completion of sugar beet harvesting campaign and completion of juice extracting season at a number of plants. Russian sugar export by rail in November has exceeded the total volume exported in October (20 900 tons in 23 days of November vs. 20 200 tons for the whole of October)
UKRAINE
"Ukrainian Sugar Company" plans to expand its land bank and acquire a few sugar mills that will tripleтthe capacity for sugar production, said Vladimir Palienko, company CEO. According to the official over the last 8 years the company has invested about US$ 140-145 million.

By November 22 Ukraine has harvested 12.3 million tons of sugar beets, according to Ministry of Agrarian Policy. Sugar beet was harvested from the area of 258 thousand hectares, or 88% of the forecast; the average yield makes 47.6 MT/ha (on this date last year - 42.4 MT/ha).
