RUSSIA

According to Soyuzrossakhar, by November 22, 2016 Russia has harvested 1071.7 thousand hectares of sugar beet (96.5% of crop area), bulk harvest makes 49.7 million tons with the average yield of 46.4 MT/ha.

KYRGYZSTAN

The second sugar factory "Koshoy", located in the city of Kant, will start operating in 2017, reported Kubanichbek Kulmatov - chairman of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF). He has also noted that the sugar beet acreage is planned to reach about 17 000 hectares in 2017. RKDF has allocated $ 15.5 million for the modernization of the sugar factory "Koshoy".

In 2015 season the yield of sugar beet was 36.42 MT/ha, for 10 months of 2016 after harvesting of 67% of the crop, the yield was 51.67 MT/ha. The share of imports in the volume of the domestic sugar market makes 80-82%. In 2015, the joint-stock company "Kaindy-Kant" has produced 24,100 tons of sugar, or 20% of the needs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the commodity. In 10 months of 2016 the volume of sugar production has made already 32,100 tons of sugar made from sugar cane and 12 800 tons made of sugar beet, according to the Ministry of Economy.

BELARUS

According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, in 9 months (January - September) of 2016 the volume of sugar exports has made 256,000 tons and has remained at the level of previous year; the main export destination is Russia (204 000 tons). Export of molasses (35 600 tons) has dropped more than by half, compared to the same period of 2015; export of beet pulp (7.5 thousand tons) has decreased 4 times. Import of raw sugar almost doubled (257,000 tons).
