RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 1 051.2 thousand hectares or 99.2% of the forecast as of the May 19, 2016 (in 2015 – 980.9 thousand hectares).
BELARUS
According to the analysis of data FCS Belarus conducted by Sugar.Ru, Belarus has imported the following commodities for 3 months (January - March) 2016: raw sugar beet (HS 170112) – 485 tons; raw sugar cane (HS 170114) – 110 888 tons. Import of other sugar (HS 170199) has made 82 tons; import of other sugars (HS 1702) – 3 849 tons; import of sugar beet seeds (HS 120910) made 194 tons.
