RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Russia has sown sugar beet on an area of 1,042,100 hectares by May 17, 2016, or 98.3% of the forecast (in 2015 the progress was 962.1 thousand hectares).

UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service, the average price for white sugar by producers decreased by UAH 185.02 and has made UAH 11 250.38 per ton in April 2016 (RUR 28 752.7/MT at current rate of the Central Bank of Russia).

ED&F Man Ukraine plans to invest another US$ 10 million in a sugar factory equipment at plant acquired in 2007 in Nikolayev region and expand its land bank for cultivation of sugar beet to 45-50 thousand hectares.
BELARUS
According statistic committee of Belarus, the average consumer price of sugar makes 15 290 Bel. rubles per 1 kg in April 2016 (around RUR 51.50/kg at current rate of the Central Bank of Russia).
KAZAKHSTAN
The country has planted 10 400 ha with sugar beet (84.1% of the plan) by May 18, 2016. In Almaty region the acreage seeded made 6 400 hectares (100.4% of the plan); in Zhambyl – 4 000 hectares thousand hectares.

According statistic committee of Kazakhstan, the national production of sugar and molasses decreased by 10.56% in April 2016 and made 34 687 tons (in 2015 – 3 454 tons, in 2014 – 45 423 tons). From the beginning of 2016 the volume of sugar and molasses produced has reached 130 707 tons.
