The import duty for raw sugar delivered to the Customs Union will be US$ 203/ton in January 2016. In February 2016 the fee will not change. The monthly average price at “The ICE” stock exchange has made US$ 330.66 for one MT in December.
More than 699,000 tons of sugar beet was processed and more than 109 thousand tons of sugar produced Cheremnovsky sugar factory (Altai Territory) by January 11, 2016.
According figures by Soyuzrossakhar and dated January 11, 2016, the country has produced 5.08 million MT of sugar beet harvested in 2015, the total production of beet sugar in 2015/16 season is estimated to reach 5.15 million tons.
According to the forecast by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the area sown with sugar beet will increase by 5%, amounting to 250,500 hectares in 2016.
According to "Astarta-Kyiv", last year the holding company has collected about 1.9 million tons of sugar beet and produced 355,000 tons of sugar.
According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices of sugar in the country rose by 2.5% in December 2015 making annual (2015) total growth 69.8%.
According to the Agency for Statistics, the price of sugar by manufacturers rose by 2.7% in December 2015, while total growth in 2015 has made 26.9%.
In 2015 season the national sugar beet acreage has totalled 6,100 hectares with 3,900 hectares only suitable for harvesting, according to the collegiate of Zhambyl akimat. The average yield has made to 16-17 tons from a hectare. Size of root crops appeared to be substandard small, and, therefore, the sugar mills have refused to accept the harvest. As a result, 52,800 tons were recognized suitable for processing, which is 32.2% of the bulk harvest.
