RUSSIA

In Russia, the average consumer price for sugar was RUR 52.57 per 1 kg in April 2015, which is 1.59 rubles less than a month ago, according to Rosstat. In March the average consumer price of sugar was RUR 54.16 per 1 kg.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was planted in Russia on an area of 1,018,000 hectares as of June 9, 2015, or 103.9% of the forecast (in 2014 - 913 400 ha).

UKRAINE

Sugar factories in Khmelnitsky region are planning to produce 120 thousand tons of sugar in 2015, which is 2.4 times or by 172 thousand tons less than last year, according to the regional administration. The region has been substantially reduced sugar beet planting area from 46,000 hectares in 2014 to 27,000 hectares this year. This sugar production season, five sugar factories in the region are planning to process beets – same as last year; enterprises plan processing around 1.1 million tons of sugar beet.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, consumer prices for sugar increased by 9.4% in May 2015. The average price for sugar in April amounted to 10,994 Belarus rubles per 1 kg. From the beginning of the year, the consumer prices for sugar in Belarus have increased by 15%.

According to rail cargo monitoring figures by Sugar.Ru, Belarus has shipped 42,800 tons of white sugar transit Russia from the beginning of the year and by June 10, 2015 (in 2014 – 46.2 thousand tons). The volume of 29,800 tons was delivered to Kazakhstan (in 2014 – 26.9 thousand tons).
