RUSSIA
According to the monitoring data by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation, Russia has processed 385.8 thousand tons of raw sugar and produced 378.1 thousand tons of sugar in 2015, as of May 25 (1.2% below the level of 2014). Volumes of import of raw sugar in January-May 2015 (as of May 24) are 10% less than in 2014. During the week from May 26 to June 1, the wholesale price of sugar fell by 2.6%, retail – by 0.7%.

According to the regional department of agriculture of Tambov, by May 28, 2015 the region has sown sugar beet on the area of 99.23 thousand hectares, or 105% of the plan; the targets have been exceeded by nearly 5,000 hectares.

According to rail cargo statistics by Sugar.Ru, Russia has imported from Belarus by rail 100,700 tons of white sugar in the first five months of 2015 (in 2014 – 134 thousand tons).

KAZAKHSTAN
Sugar production declined to 3.4 thousand tons in April against 51.7 thousand tons produced in March in Kazakhstan. In January-April production of sugar has made total 73.2 thousand tons.
CUSTOMS UNION
In June 2015 the import duty on raw sugar supplied to the Customs Union has remained at US$ 250/ton. In July 2015 the import duty or raw sugar imports to the CU will not change and will be fixed at US$ 250/ton.
