RUSSIA

Over the past week May 19 to 25, 2015, Russian consumer prices for sugar fell 0.7%, the Federal State Statistics Service reports. From the beginning of the year the consumer price of sugar rose by 11.5%.

According to price monitoring by sugar.ru, in the period May 21-28, 2015 dollar rose by 2.5% (on May 21 – 49.79 rubles per $ 1, on May 28 – 51.02 rubles per $ 1). Moscow ruble price of sugar fell by 0.40 rubles/kg (-1.01%), Krasnodar price fell by 0.50 rubles/kg (-1.32%). Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by US$ 0.027/kg (-3.39%), Krasnodar price dropped by US$ 0.028/kg (-3.67%).

According Soyuzrossakhar data as of May 26, Russian Federation has planted 994,400 hectares with sugar beet (99.2% of the projected crop area). In 2014, on same day 913,500 hectares was planted. Loss of crops in the Central Federal District has reached 79,500 hectares because of dust storms. 46,300 hectares were re-seeded. In general, Russia has planted total 960,200 hectares of sugar beet, taking into account re-seeded areas, which is 41,500 hectares more than last year.

Shares of "Group "Razguliay" rose to 13.08 rubles (+ 23.1%) by 12:20 (+3 GMT), with the trade volume of 90 million rubles at the Moscow stock exchange. A day earlier shares have added 7.8%, following 5.6% growth on Monday. Some analysts attribute a new surge of interest and growing stock values to probable onset of large investor procuring the shares of the group.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, the country has exported 92,400 tons of sugar in the solid state (HS code 1701) in January-March 2015, which is 15.9% less than last year's volume. The total value equals US$ 53.208 million. The bulk of exports went to Russia – over 80 thousand tons.
