According to the figures by Williams Brasil dSated January 30, 2018, total 23 vessels have been nominated to carry 803520 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017/18 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 708020 MT from 20 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
In Vinnitsa region sugar beet acreage will grow by 13 thousand hectares in 2018 compared to previous season, the regional administration reports. This season, the bulk harvest of sugar beet in the region amounted to over 3 million tons; regional sugar factories have produced 445,000 tons of sugar, one plant continues to operate.
MOLDOVA
According to provisional estimates, the sugar beet harvest in 2017 amounted to 831 thousand tons (+24.9% or +166 000 tons compared to 2016 season). The average yield of sugar beet increased by 11.6% and amounted to 36.32 MT/ha, according to the National Statistics Committee.
KAZAKHSTAN
In January 2018 retail prices for sugar decreased by 3%, from 199.75 to 193.7 Kazakh Tenge per kg (or from RUR 34.88 to RUR 33.82/kg) and by 22.5% over the year (in January 2017 the price was 250.07 Tenge/kg or RUR 43.66/kg), the local press reports.
