RUSSIA

According to the data by Soyuzrossahar, as of January 15, 2018, sugar beet production amounted to 6.25 million tons, which is 400,000 tons more than last year. About 2 million tons of sugar beets are stored in field piles. The forecast of beet sugar production in the season 2017/18 is expected to reach 6.4 million tons. In the season 2016/17 years the country has produced 6.16 million tons of beet sugar.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated January 16, 2018, total 22 vessels have been nominated to carry 770520 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017/18 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 708020 MT from 20 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

UKRAINE

According to Gosstat, the average price for white sugar from producers was UAH 10263.61/MT in December 2017 (or RUR 20,252.9 per ton at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). In November, the average price was UAH 10737.66/MT (RUR 21 188.4/ton).

As of January 15, 2018, total 2,034 million tons of sugar were produced in the country and 14.17 million tons of sugar beet processed, Ukrtsukor reports.

BELARUS

The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, by its Decree No. 60 dated December 4, 2017, has established the marginal minimum prices and the trade surcharge for white sugar. The selling price of sugar basis ex-shipment (excluding VAT) for white crystalline sugar, produced (imported) and (or) sold in Belarus for purposes not related to industrial processing, is set at Br 1.19 per 1 kg, the selling price basis ex-works (without VAT) - Br1.22 per 1 kg. The retail price (with VAT) is set at  Br1.5 per 1 kg.
