RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of December 12, 2017, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 1172.2 thousand hectares in the country, or 100% to the crop acreage (in 2016 - 1.1 million hectares).

In October 2017 Russia has exported 670.1 thousand tons of beet pulp. According to the results of 10 months of beet pulp export campaign, Russia has shipped out 670.1 thousand tons (in 2016 - 729.0 thousand MT; in 2015 - 589.1 thousand MT). In the period January - October 2017, the main countries importers of beet pulp from Russia were Latvia (21.41%) and Turkey (19.96%). According to the results of 10 months of beet pulp import campaign, Russia has shipped in 0.1 thousand tons (in 2016 - 0.1 thousand MT; in 2015 - 0.0 thousand MT).
UKRAINE
According to Ukrstat, as of December 11, 2017, the average consumer price of sugar in Ukraine was 12.78 UAH/kg (27.94 rubles/kg at the Central Bank exchange rate for the reporting day), which is 1.25% less than the price of the previous observation date 11 days ago. Over the year (since December 11, 2016) sugar has decreased in price by 14.06%, in two years (since December 10, 2015) the price of sugar has decreased by 15.75%. The highest prices are observed in the Donetsk region - 13.50 UAH/kg, the lowest - in the Sumy region, 11.93 UAH/kg.
