RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, on 25 September 2017, sugar beet was harvested in Russia from an area of 409.9 thousand hectares or 34.8% of total acreage (in 2016 – 353.5 thousand hectares).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated September 26, 2017, total 18 vessels have been nominated to carry 642 020 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 575 270 MT from 16 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

UZBEKISTAN

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has supported the Russian proposal to start supplying sugar to the country from Russia.

KYRGYZSTAN

Aksu sugar plant will process 100 thousand tons of beet in the season 2017/18, and the next two years it is planned to increase the capacity of the enterprise three times, the local press reports.

On September 25-26, night frosts are expected as low as to -1…3°C in a number of sugar beet growing areas in Kyrgyzia.

MOLDOVA

According to the Statistics Committee of Moldova, the production of sugar confectionery products amounted to 3.3 thousand tons in the second quarter of 2017, thus making total 6.4 thousand tons in the first half of 2017.

BELARUS

According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, in 7 months (January-July) of 2017 raw sugar imports amounted to 106,000 tons, exports of white sugar – 295,000 tons, Belarus exported 96,000 tons from the EEA, the main recipients were Ukraine (31 thousand tons) and Moldova (20 thousand tons). Import of white sugar amounted to 20 687 tons, almost all -from Russia.
