According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.Ru, Russia has imported 9.3 thousand tons of raw sugar from countries outside the Customs Union in September 2015; in the first 9 months of 2015 – 251 100 MT (in 2014 - 414 1 thousand tons; in 2013 - 411.3 thousand tons).
For the period January - September 2015, the main countries exporting sugar to Russia were Cuba (53.67%) and Brazil (44.20%). The largest importers of raw sugar are the companies "Primorsky Sugar '(32.46%) and "SDI" LLC (31.11%) in the first 9 months of the year.
In October 2015 white sugar production has made 1.5 million tons; thus total volume of sugar produced in January-October has reached 3255 thousand tons, according to Rosstat.
The deputies of the Verkhovnaya Rada (Supreme Parliament) have disclosed attempts of armed capture of state-owned sugar, which is kept in warehouses in Cherkassy; they said the warehouses with 43 thousand tons of sugar belonging to Agrarian Fund are currently being attacked.
According to the Federal Customs Service of Belarus, the export of sugar (HS 1701) has reached 268 thousand tons in January - September 2015; exports of other sugars (HS 1701) made 1914 tons; export of molasses - 82232 tons, sugar beet pulp - 30833 tons. Imports of sugar (HS 1701) made 175 thousand tons, other sugars - 9.7 thousand tons.
Kazakhstan has harvested 89.9% of total sugar beet acreage by November 13, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. As of today bulk harvest makes 143.3 thousand tons of sugar beet.
